Video Editor (up to £32,000)
12 month fixed term contract

As a Video Editor, you will join the Gardening Group as part of our in-house video team responsible for original content. The role is an integral member of our production team responsible for delivering high-quality video content optimized for our website (gardenersworld.com), social (Instagram, Facebook and TikTok) and YouTube.
You will be able to make native narrative edits that will leave viewers engaged, watching in full and wanting more!
You will have a responsibility to work autonomously and be able to create motion graphics and work on multiple video edits simultaneously. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in producing gardening-related content as well as having a creative vision across all spectrums of video production. You will be part of a small team to create, organise and plan videos for various digital platforms, so interest in production is desirable. A strong understanding of social and YouTube video and how users consume video on different platforms is essential. Experience working within a digital media environment is imperative.
As a Video Editor you will;
- Edit short-form video content for our Social Media platforms
- Editing mid-length and long-form single and multicamera edits for YouTube and our websites.
- Design and create motion graphics to house style an advantage
- Establish clear understanding of the storyline, purpose and creative brief
- Cleaning and mixing audio for video edits
- Colour correcting and grading
- Exporting correct video settings for specific platforms
- Manage and organising media for video edits
- Work closely with a camera operator and producer to organise and plan video edits
- Work with the design team to create motion graphics for projects
Requirements
- Previous professional experience in a similar role at a production company, publisher or digital media environment would be beneficial
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge in video production and post-production including video editing, editing audio, designing and creating motion graphics
- Proficiency in using editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe After Effects) and experience with various codecs, formats and resolutions
- Being a stickler for grammatical accuracy and detail in plant nomenclature
- First-rate organisational and time management skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, and think quickly and strategically to meet tight deadlines
- Constantly on the lookout for the latest methods, trends and techniques that make engaging video on site, social and youtube.
- A passion for podcasts. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to create and direct editing of podcasts and vodcasts
- Self-motivator and team player with a proactive approach to work and problem solving
